Effective 6 July 2020, BNP Paribas 3 Step IT, the joint venture between 3stepIT and BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions, has started operations in Germany. Founded in 2019, the joint venture is already operational in France, Italy and the United Kingdom. Other countries are expected to open for business later this year.
BNP Paribas 3 Step IT offers mid-market, enterprise and public sector organisations a Technology Lifecycle Management solution that help IT managers to simplify the acquisition, management and refresh of business technology in a sustainable manner.
A powerful asset management system sits at the core of this service which gives IT managers complete control and visibility of all IT devices on the company network. The system minimises device downtime and IT security risks by providing real-time insights into device health. It also features a powerful reporting engine which details every asset by user, cost centre, product group and location.
BNP Paribas 3 Step IT also helps customers to achieve their sustainability goals. Operating five refurbishment centres, customers can send redundant IT devices to be refurbished, helping to extend the life of the device so that they can be reused. In 2019, we processed over half a million devices, with 98% of end-of-lease devices given a second life. By managing obsolete and end of lease IT devices in this way, BNP Paribas 3 Step IT helps customers to reduce their electronic waste by half and CO2 emissions by 36%.
The joint venture uniquely combines the expertise of 3 Step IT, the pioneer of manufacturer independent Technology Lifecycle Management solutions, with the strengths and coverage of the European market leader in leasing, BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions. Drawing on their expertise, BNP Paribas 3 Step IT offers a bespoke Technology Lifecycle Management service to customers looking to deploy essential business technology that includes smartphones, laptops, desktops and servers, to entire data centers and complex networks.
“We are happy to bring our solution to corporate and public sector bodies across Europe. BNP Paribas 3 Step IT offer a sustainable approach to consuming technology and helps to make the circular economy a reality for many businesses that are actively looking to reduce their environmental footprint,” said Carmen Ene, CEO of 3 Step IT.
Charlotte Dennery, CEO of BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions: “Since the announcement of our joint venture, we have received many inquiries from companies. This shows us that Technology Lifecycle Management fulfils a need for many companies to manage their IT estate that is in line with their social responsibility charter. Sustainability is increasingly becoming an important differentiator for customers, partners and investors. This joint venture meets the needs of our customers and contributes to the BNP Paribas Group's strategy of supporting circular economy initiatives."
